The cake which can survive months in room temperature without going bad is gingerbread. Or it can be cookies πŸ™‚ It is called piernik in Poland. Anyhow this special cake needs special spice mix which smells like Christmas and tastes like heaven.

I use it to make:

  • gingercake
  • tea with milk
  • coffee
  • chocolate!
  • desserts

Scraps go into pot and smell beautifully for months:

  • pine cones scent πŸ™‚
  • potpourri scent
  • Christmas cards decorations

 

INGREDIENTS STEPS
  • 80g cinnamon
  • 20g dried ginger powder
  • 10g nutmeg
  • 15g cloves
  • 15g cardamom seeds
  • 10g allspice
  • hint (5g) of pepper
  • hint of anise
  • hint of cumin
  • hint of coriander
Grind very well all ingredients using a good blender or coffee grinder. Separate the powder from bigger pieces using a sieve. Put the powder into a 200ml jar and close.
  • Servings: ~30
  • Healthy: 9 (dried, but with excellent anti-inflammatory properties)
  • Difficulty: easy peasy
  • Time: 20 minutes
  • Storage: forever in closed jar, in dark
  • Usage:
    • Add 3-4 table spoons into a gingerbread dough
    • Add a hint into tea or coffee
    • Add 1 tea spoon into chocolate
